Mary Margaret Truman was the only daughter of former US President Harry S. Truman and his wife Bess Truman. She accompanied her father on several tours from 1945 to 1953 and was much talked about in the media. But instead of pursuing a career in politics, she chose the path of music and became a famous coloratura soprano opera singer. She married New York Times editor Mike Wallace and became a famous New York socialite. She also wrote several books, including biographies of her father and murder mysteries.
