Anna Eleanor Roosevelt Halstead was the daughter of US President Franklin D. Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. She was not only the daughter of a president but also his closest companion and assistant during the last years of his life. When FDR became confined to a wheelchair, Anna was with him every step of the way. During difficult times of war, she accompanied him to meet world leaders like Churchill and Stalin. Anna was a supporter of women's empowerment. She contributed to the President's Advisory Council on the Status of Women and was also the vice-chairman of the Human Rights Commission.
