
Bruce Lee was a Hong Kong-American martial artist as well as a filmmaker, actor, and philosopher. He was born on 27 November 1940 in San Francisco, USA. He is considered one of the most influential martial artists. He is one of the most famous athletes in history. He created his own unique style of martial arts called "Jeet Kune Do". Bruce Lee not only impressed people with his tremendous agility and strength in films, but also brought Asian culture worldwide recognition. In 1972, he received the Best Mandarin Film Award at the Golden Horse Awards and the Special Jury Prize for Fist of Fury. In 1994, he was awarded the Hong Kong Film Award for Lifetime Achievement.
In 1999, Time magazine included him among the 100 most influential people of the 20th century. In 2004, he was awarded the "Star of the Century" and in 2013 the "Asian Awards Founders Award". Bruce Lee died in 1973 at the age of 32, but he is still remembered as an inspiration around the world.
